Refuge; maquette; knotted wire, emt conduit, fittings, 20x22x8 ft
Refuge will be a large outdoor work that will attach to an outer wall of a building. The support structure, which will loosely resemble a mountain, be fabricated out of emt conduit and be covered by multiple lengths of wire that has been knotted using a basic macramé square knot. I estimate that I will need 11,000’ of knotted wire to cover the form. The placement of the form will create a space to enter, a new area that will be a private place within a public area.
